LB2000 Asphalt Mixing Plant (120-160t/h Heavy-Duty Modular Asphalt Batching Plant) — overview
Overview
Product Brief of the LB2000 asphalt mixing plant
The LB2000 asphalt mixing plant is stationary intermittent batch-type road-building equipment built for medium-large infrastructure projects. It delivers batch capacity of 2000 kg per cycle, with practical production output ranging 140-180 t/h and total installed power reaching 480 kW.
This unit adopts fully-modular combined construction. Multiple structural layouts are available to satisfy personalized site requirements for highway reconstruction, provincial arterial expansion, large municipal projects and centralized asphalt supply stations. It also fits overseas EPC contracts requiring traceable batch-wise quality acceptance records of this plant.
The modular design of this unit simplifies on-site assembly on reinforced concrete foundations. Once one contract finishes, all modules can be disassembled, transported and reassembled for new construction locations. This brings high flexibility for contractors managing multiple project sites with this plant across different countries and regions.
For many overseas buyers, site conditions vary greatly: limited construction time, unstable local fuel supply and strict project-quality audit rules. This plant is engineered to cope with such complex real-world constraints. Unlike continuous mixing equipment, this plant delivers accurate batch records for every single production run, which is critical for project inspection and final hand-over.
Many remote job sites using this unit lack complete supporting workshop facilities. The modular split-structure of this plant lowers requirements for on-site lifting tools. Main modules are pre-assembled and tested inside factory workshop before shipment, which greatly shortens field installation and commissioning cycles.
Core Features of the LB2000 asphalt mixing plant
- Multi-point continuous equal-volume feeding for bitumen and mineral filler inside mixing chamber. It improves aggregate coating uniformity and shortens overall mixing cycle time.
- Stepless adjustable secondary weighing mechanism guarantees high-precision metering for every raw material fraction. Stable weighing performance reduces formula deviation in long-time continuous shifts.
- Human-oriented mixing-chamber access design. Side doors can be opened flexibly for quick replacement of mixing blades and routine inspection. Centralized automatic lubrication protects bearing assemblies and cuts manual maintenance workload.
- Complete multi-system configuration: 5 cold-feed bins, five-deck vibrating screen, dual 50 m³ mineral powder tanks and high-voltage pulse bag-house dust collector. Fuel-oil or coal-fired burner can be selected according to local fuel supply conditions.
- Three-mode operation including fully-automatic, semi-automatic and manual control inside air-conditioned control cabin. System stores full batch logs for weight, temperature and production timestamp for client acceptance documents.
Extra practical advantages come from its component selection. Key drive parts adopt well-known domestic brand motors and reducers, proven in thousands of domestic road projects. Spare-part compatibility helps overseas users source replacement components locally, lowering long-term operating cost.
Optional upgrade packages can be configured upon request. Users may add RAP recycled asphalt system for reusing old pavement materials, or install foamed-bitumen auxiliary devices to realize warm-mix asphalt production. These options expand application scope for energy-saving and environment-friendly road-construction demands.

Working Principle of the LB2000 asphalt mixing plant
As a intermittent batch-type unit, it produces hot-mix asphalt in repeating fixed-volume batches, instead of continuous non-stop output. A full production workflow contains eight sequential steps. Real-world hourly output depends on batch weight and complete cycle duration.
Cold aggregate proportioning Different-size raw aggregates are stored in five independent cold hoppers. Frequency-controlled batching belts discharge materials according to target mix-design ratios. Aggregate fractions merge on the collecting belt and feed toward drying drum. Belt scales require regular calibration to avoid gradation deviation.
Drying and heating procedure Mixed cold aggregate enters the Φ2200 × 8000 mm rotary drying drum. Either fuel-oil burner or coal-fired burner provides heat source. Internal lifting blades tumble aggregate to form uniform material curtains and improve heat exchange efficiency. Moisture evaporates and aggregate rises to required working temperature. Higher aggregate moisture needs increased burner power output.
Hot aggregate lifting After drying and heating, hot aggregate flows out of drum outlet. Vertical plate-chain bucket elevator lifts high-temperature materials vertically up to the top platform of screening tower. This mechanical transfer connects drying section with upper screening and weighing modules.
Vibrating screening and hot-bin storage Hot aggregate drops onto five-layer vibrating screen. Multi-mesh decks classify aggregate into multiple particle sizes. Each fraction falls into its dedicated insulated 28 m³ hot bin for heat-preservation storage. Screen meshes can be swapped to match gradation for surface, binder or base course.
Independent multi-component weighing When one batch cycle starts, aggregate discharges into aggregate weighing hopper. Mineral filler and liquid bitumen flow into their separate weighing vessels. Every raw material finishes independent weight measurement before discharging. Stepless secondary-weighing function further optimizes metering precision.
Forced twin-shaft mixing Fully-weighed aggregate, filler and hot bitumen are fed into mixing chamber via multi-point equal-volume feeding ports. Two 37 kW gear-motors drive mixing arms and blades for intensive stirring. Pre-set mixing duration ensures full bitumen coating on every aggregate particle for homogeneous mixture.
Finished-material discharge and buffer storage After mixing completes, bottom discharge gate opens. 2000 kg finished batch can discharge directly into waiting transport trucks. Users may select optional 80 t finished-product silo for temporary buffering when truck arrivals are uneven.
Dust removal & full-system control Process dust is captured by high-voltage pulse bag-house equipped with 576 filter bags. Induced-draft fan maintains negative pressure inside pipelines to prevent dust leakage. Pneumatic cylinders actuate bin gates and weighing doors. PLC runs automatic sequence; semi-automatic and manual modes serve for commissioning and troubleshooting.
Under typical site-working conditions, one full production cycle lasts around 50-60 seconds. Actual output will decrease if processing high-moisture aggregate or adding recycled RAP materials. Operators monitor temperature and weighing data rather than manual gate manipulation, securing stable mixture quality during long-shift production.
LB2000 Asphalt Mixing Plant Site Planning Around 480 kW
Total installed power of 480 kW is the figure that most often shapes a site plan, because it determines the transformer capacity and the cable sizes that have to be provided before the plant can be commissioned. Confirm the available supply against that figure at the planning stage rather than during installation, and allow for the starting current of the largest motor as well as the steady load. The 110 kW induced-draft fan is normally the single largest consumer and therefore the one that sets the electrical design.
The other planning constraint is the foundation. Unlike the smaller mobile models in the range, the LB2000 requires a reinforced concrete foundation capable of carrying the load and absorbing the vibration of continuous production. That is a civil works item with a real lead time, and a plant that arrives on site before its foundation is cured will simply wait. Because the unit splits into modules for container shipment, the delivery can be phased against the civil programme so that the modules are not stored on a site that is not yet ready to receive them.
Batch Size, Output and Truck Loading
The LB2000 weighs 2000 kg per batch and delivers a practical output of 140–180 t/h, with the actual figure depending on aggregate moisture and site temperature. The optional 80 t finished material silo is worth considering on any site where truck arrival is not perfectly matched to production: it converts a plant that must stop when the trucks stop into one that can keep mixing and loading from stock. On a project where haul distance is significant, that buffer is usually the difference between the plant running at its rating and running at whatever rate the trucks happen to allow.
