LB1500 Asphalt Mixing Plant (100-140t/h Modular Asphalt Batching Plant) — overview

Overview

The LB1500 asphalt mixing plant is a stationary batch-type asphalt production unit manufactured by LIJIU in Dezhou, Shandong. Each individual batch produces 1500 kg of hot asphalt mixture. Under standard operating conditions, it delivers practical output ranging from 100-140 t/h.

Positioned in the middle of the LB product series, this model targets projects requiring higher throughput than 1000 kg-class plants. Meanwhile, it retains full formula flexibility brought by batch-type operation. Typical applications include provincial secondary highways, urban arterial reconstruction, airport auxiliary pavements and maintenance depots with stable seasonal construction schedules.

It adopts proven intermittent technical architecture. On this plant, cold aggregate is supplied from feeding hoppers, dried and heated inside the rotary drum, then elevated, screened and stored in hot bins. After independent weighing of each fraction, materials go through twin-shaft mixing before final discharge.

Every core subsystem of this unit acts as an independent modular unit. These cover cold feeding system, drying drum, hot aggregate elevator, vibrating screen, hot bins, metering system, mixing unit, dust removal device, pneumatic assembly and electrical control cabinet. Thanks to modular design, this unit completes assembly rapidly on pre-prepared foundations. It can also be fully disassembled and relocated once one construction contract finishes.

Below are core technical parameters of the LB1500 asphalt mixing plant for the standard configuration. Total installed power reaches 320 kW. It is equipped with four cold aggregate hoppers of 9.5 m³ each, fitted with 500 mm batching belts and one 650 mm collecting belt.

The drying drum dimension stands at 1850 mm × 7500 mm. A 15 kW vertical double-ring chain bucket elevator handles hot aggregate lifting work. Its vibrating screen supports multiple sieve decks: 5×5 mm, 10×10 mm, 15×15 mm and 26.5×26.5 mm for gradation classification.

A 25 m³ powder tank comes as standard hardware. Separate weighing hoppers serve different raw materials: 0.30 m³ for filler powder and 0.25 m³ for bitumen with weighing range of 0.1-300 kg. The mixing chamber uses dual 30 kW gear motors, designed for 1500 kg per batch mixing capacity.

For this model, actual site configuration can be adjusted according to on-site conditions. The standard burner model on this plant is fuel-oil ZZR-1500, and a coal-fired burner is available as an optional upgrade.

Dust removal on this unit relies on a high-voltage pulse bag-house holding 480 filter bags. Powder silos and optional 60 t finished-product silos (maximum two units) can be matched to your real-world production demand.

The asphalt heating assembly includes two sets of 50 t asphalt tanks plus one 50 t heavy-oil tank, supported by a 7.5 kW metering pump. Operators can select manual, semi-automatic or fully-automatic working modes inside the air-conditioned control cabin of this plant. Operators only need to monitor running status instead of manually controlling every gate action.

The LB1500 asphalt mixing plant satisfies two key requirements which small-size mixing equipment cannot achieve simultaneously. This plant provides stable hourly output to keep transport trucks running continuously for paving operations. This unit also supports flexible batch-by-batch formula adjustment for projects applying multiple wearing-course grades within one construction season.

Common project cases cover provincial and municipal road packages, airport service roads, industrial park pavements and high-volume maintenance tasks. Under these scenarios, mix designs often change between different working shifts.

Many buyers wonder why to pick a batch-type unit rather than a continuous drum-style plant. For projects with frequent formula switching, this equipment delivers obvious practical advantages. Operators can adjust mix grade, bitumen content and recipe for every single batch without drum flushing work.

Independent weighing for aggregate, filler and bitumen generates traceable batch records for project acceptance. Continuous mixing equipment performs better for single-formula long-term mass production. By contrast, batch-type machines excel when facing diverse task lists and strict mix-design documents.

Batch-type design also fits export-oriented quality-control standards well. All raw materials are weighed via unified scales, and mixing duration is locked by control programs. Operators can record temperature and weight data for every batch to meet client-side acceptance requirements.

Supplied directly from LIJIU factory, the unit comes with complete ISO 9001 certification documents and English-language technical drawings. It adopts seaworthy packaging for FOB Qingdao sea shipment.

Our delivery scope includes installation guidance, operator training and a spare-parts list for wear components covering the first-year running cycle. Before formal order confirmation, our team confirms site-adapted items such as local voltage, fuel type, HMI display language and certification papers including CE, SNI or TISI. We will send out a detailed configuration sheet with project scope and lead time within 24 hours after receiving your inquiry.

Strict quality-control runs through every production phase. Quality supervision starts from high-precision weighing systems and ends with complete batch log files. Aggregate, mineral filler and bitumen all finish individual weighing before entering mixing procedure.

Mixing time is fixed by program settings. On-site staff record temperature and weight data of each batch for customer acceptance check. Before leaving our Dezhou workshop, key assemblies go through load test runs. Test reports, ISO 9001 certificates and engineering drawings are delivered together with main equipment.

LB1500 asphalt mixing plant Working Principle

This intermittent batch equipment produces asphalt mixture in fixed 1500 kg batches instead of uninterrupted continuous output. A full production cycle covers eight core steps. Batch size plus cycle time jointly decide final hourly output volume. The following explains its working logic by each subsystem.

Cold aggregate batching Four 9.5 m³ cold hoppers store aggregate of different particle sizes. Each hopper feeds materials onto its matched 500 mm batching belt under control system instructions. Different aggregate fractions converge on the 650 mm collecting belt following preset mixing proportions. This step directly influences final aggregate gradation, so belt scales must be calibrated strictly according to target mix design.

Drying and heating The collecting belt transports cold aggregate into the 1850 mm × 7500 mm drying drum. Heat comes from ZZR-1500 fuel-oil burner; coal-fired burner serves as optional alternative. Aggregate keeps tumbling inside rotating drum to complete drying and heating until target temperature is reached. For high-moisture raw aggregate, operators need to increase fuel consumption and extend material residence time inside drum.

Hot aggregate lifting Heated hot aggregate exits from drying drum outlet. The 15 kW vertical double-ring chain bucket elevator lifts hot materials up to the top of screening tower. This position forms the material transfer zone between drying section and screening section.

Screening into hot bins The vibrating screen separates hot aggregate through multi-layer sieve decks of 5×5 mm, 10×10 mm, 15×15 mm and 26.5×26.5 mm. Classified aggregate flows into corresponding compartments inside hot bins for heat-preservation storage before weighing. Users can replace screen meshes to match gradation demands of different projects.

Metering by weight When one batch is about to start, aggregate flows into aggregate weighing bucket. Mineral filler enters 0.30 m³ powder weighing hopper, while bitumen fills the 0.25 m³ bitumen weighing hopper with 0.1-300 kg measuring range. Every raw material completes independent weight measurement before discharging. This mechanism guarantees stable and repeatable mixing recipes batch after batch.

Forced mixing Fully weighed aggregate, filler powder and bitumen are released into mixing chamber. Driven by dual 30 kW gear motors, twin mixing arms stir all components to form homogeneous hot asphalt mixture. Mixing duration is pre-set by control software. Sufficient mixing time ensures every aggregate particle gets full binder coating.

Discharge and finished silo Completed 1500 kg finished batch can be directly unloaded into waiting transport trucks. It can also flow into optional 60 t finished-product silo (two silos can be configured in parallel). The silo offers short-time material buffer when trucks arrive in batches with uneven intervals.

Dust collection and process control The high-voltage pulse bag-house with 480 filter bags captures dust generated by drying drum and screening tower. Induced-draft fan maintains stable negative-pressure status for the whole system. The pneumatic system drives cylinder valves and weighing-bucket doors. Automatic sequence runs as default, with manual and semi-automatic operation as backup solutions.

In real-world site operation, one complete production cycle takes roughly one minute. Hence, practical output hits 100-140 t/h. Actual capacity varies based on mix formula, raw aggregate moisture condition and cycle-sequence execution. Automatic program takes charge of most actions. Operators mainly monitor temperature and weight indexes to secure stable quality during long-time continuous production.
