LB1000 Asphalt Mixing Plant (60-80t/h Modular Asphalt Batching Plant) — overview

Overview

The LB1000 asphalt mixing plant is a stationary batch-type asphalt production unit built by LIJIU in Dezhou, Shandong. Each batch mixes 1000 kg of hot asphalt mixture, which translates to a practical output of 60–80 t/h under standard working conditions. It is the entry-level batch plant in the LB series, sized for county-level highway reconstruction, municipal road maintenance, medium-size paving packages and fixed production bases that need a consistent plant rather than a portable drum unit.

This batch plant follows the classic intermittent batch architecture: cold aggregate is fed, dried and heated in this plant, screened into hot bins, weighed by fraction, and mixed in a forced pugmill before discharge. On this unit, every main subsystem is a separate module — cold feed system, drying drum, hot aggregate elevator, vibrating screen, hot bins, metering system, mixing unit, dust removal, pneumatic system and electrical control — so the plant assembles quickly on a prepared foundation and can be dismantled and relocated when the contract window moves.

For the LB1000 asphalt mixing plant, core figures from the standard configuration: total installed power of 230 kW; four cold hoppers at 8 m³ each with 500 mm batching belts and a 650 mm collecting belt; a drying drum of 1540 mm × 6500 mm; a vertical double-ring chain bucket hot aggregate elevator at 11 kW; a vibrating screen with 5×5, 10×10, 15×15 and 26.5×26.5 mm decks; four hot aggregate bins at 18 m³; weighing hoppers for aggregate (1.4 m³), filler powder (0.25 m³) and bitumen (0.15 m³); and a mixing unit driven by two 22 kW gear motors rated for 1000 kg per batch.

Configuration of this model follows the site rather than a fixed catalogue. On this plant, the burner is available in fuel-oil or coal-fired versions; dust removal as a high-voltage pulse bag-house (400 bags) or wet water type to suit local emission rules; control in manual, semi-automatic or fully-automatic mode with an air-conditioned control room; and a finished-product silo as an optional add-on. The heating circuit runs on a thermal-oil furnace with a 50 t bitumen tank and a 50 t heavy-oil tank, so fuel supply and asphalt storage can be arranged together at the plant site.

This model is specified for projects that need a stable, repeatable mix day after day: county and provincial secondary highways, urban arterial renovation, airport and industrial-park pavements, and maintenance depots producing for multiple small jobs. Because it is a batch plant, the operator can change the mix formula between batches, which matters for projects that run several wearing-course formulas in one season.

From the LIJIU works, this plant is supplied factory-direct with ISO 9001 documents, English drawings, seaworthy packing for FOB Qingdao shipment, installation guidance, operator training and a first-year wear-parts list. Ongoing parts ship against the serial number. Voltage, fuel, HMI language and CE / SNI / TISI compliance papers are confirmed at the inquiry stage, and a configuration sheet with scope and lead time is returned within 24 hours.

Site requirements are modest for a plant of this class: a reinforced concrete foundation sized from the equipment drawing, a clean area for aggregate stockpiles and filler storage, and access for the bitumen tanker and finished-mix trucks. Because the plant is fully modular, the same packages that arrive in containers can be re-erected at a second site — which is how maintenance contractors justify the investment across several projects rather than one. For export sites, the modules keep within container and flat-rack dimensions, and the erection sequence is covered in the English installation drawings that travel with the shipment.

Working Principle of LB1000 asphalt mixing plant

The LB1000 asphalt mixing plant is a intermittent asphalt batch plant: it produces mixture in fixed batches of 1000 kg instead of a continuous stream. One complete cycle — from cold aggregate feeding to finished mix discharge — runs through eight steps, and the cycle time together with the 1000 kg batch size sets the hourly output. Here is how the plant works, subsystem by subsystem.

  1. Cold aggregate batching. The four 8 m³ cold hoppers store different aggregate fractions. Each hopper feeds onto its 500 mm batching belt at a rate set by the batching control, and the four fractions merge on the 650 mm collecting belt in the recipe proportion. This first step decides the final gradation, so the belt scales are calibrated against the mix design.
  2. Drying and heating. The collecting belt carries the cold aggregate into the 1540 mm × 6500 mm drying drum. The fuel-oil or coal burner heats the drum, and the aggregate is dried and heated to the target temperature as it tumbles through the rotating drum. Heating is adjusted for aggregate moisture; wet aggregate needs more fuel and a longer residence time.
  3. Hot aggregate lifting. The heated aggregate leaves the drum and is lifted by the vertical double-ring chain bucket elevator to the top of the screen tower. The elevator is the transfer point between the dryer level and the screening level.
  4. Screening into hot bins. At the top, the vibrating screen separates the hot aggregate into fractions through the 5×5, 10×10, 15×15 and 26.5×26.5 mm decks. Each fraction falls into its own compartment of the four 18 m³ hot bins, where it is stored hot until the batch is weighed.
  5. Metering by weight. For each batch, the aggregate is drawn from the hot bins into the 1.4 m³ aggregate weighing bucket, filler powder from its silo into the 0.25 m³ powder hopper, and bitumen from the heated tank into the 0.15 m³ bitumen weighing hopper. Each component is weighed separately before release, which is what guarantees the same recipe batch after batch.
  6. Forced mixing. The weighed aggregate, filler and bitumen are discharged into the mixing unit, driven by two 22 kW gear motors. The twin mixing arms force the materials into a uniform asphalt mixture. The mixing time is set by the control system and held long enough to coat every aggregate particle with binder — too short leaves unmixed clumps, too long wastes cycle time.
  7. Discharge and finished silo. The finished 1000 kg batch is discharged through the bottom door of the mixer directly into a waiting truck, or into the optional finished-product silo for short holding. Direct loading is the default for continuous paving; the silo is chosen when trucks arrive in waves.
  8. Dust collection and process control. The high-voltage pulse bag-house (400 bags) collects dust from the dryer and the screening tower, and the induced-draft fan keeps the system under controlled pressure. The pneumatic system powers the cylinder valves, gates and weighing doors, while the control system runs the sequence automatically with manual and semi-automatic fallback.

In practice, one full cycle takes roughly one minute of plant time, so this unit turns about 1000 kg into roughly 60–80 t/h of finished asphalt mixture depending on recipe, moisture and cycle discipline. Because the sequence is automatic, the operator supervises temperatures and weights instead of driving each gate by hand, which keeps batch-to-batch quality stable on a long production day.

This plant is a common choice for municipal asphalt production and mid-size road maintenance fleets. Operators run it for urban resurfacing, county road hot-mix supply and small airport or parking-lot paving jobs. Because this unit stores each batch recipe separately, switching between base, binder and surface courses takes one control-room change rather than a full plant reset.

Delivery of the LB1000 asphalt mixing plant follows LIJIU’s standard export procedure: modular sections, seaworthy packing and FOB Qingdao loading. On site, the installation team levels the frame, connects the cold-feed, drying and mixing modules, then runs a cold test and a hot test with the buyer’s staff. Spare parts for the first year — screens, bucket tips, burner nozzles and control relays — are listed in the quote so this plant keeps its rated 60–80 t/h output.
