LIJIU Emulsified Asphalt Equipment LRA-LRB-LRC Series (6-15t/h Modified Bitumen Emulsification Plant) — overview

Overview

LIJIU LRA-LRB-LRC series emulsified asphalt equipment is a complete product line of this equipment series for bitumen emulsion manufacturing, covering hourly output from 6 t/h to 15 t/h. The emulsified asphalt equipment series can produce ordinary emulsified asphalt, SBS modified emulsified asphalt and SBR modified emulsified asphalt; LRB model further supports direct production of pure modified asphalt. All equipment is manufactured and tested in our Dezhou factory under ISO 9001 quality standards.

Key Features & Working Principle of the emulsified asphalt equipment

This whole series adopts continuous-flow production technology. In this emulsified asphalt equipment, raw materials including hot water, emulsifier agent, acid and base asphalt are precisely metered and fed into our self-developed multi-stage modified emulsifier. High-speed multi-group shearing and grinding in the emulsified asphalt equipment finish modification and emulsification within one unit.

All wetted components of the emulsified asphalt equipment, including tank body, transfer pump, pipelines and valves, use stainless steel material. This avoids corrosion caused by soap liquid and reduces later-stage maintenance workload. On this equipment, different control modes are selectable: manual, semi-automatic and PLC full-automatic. PLC version supports real-time monitoring of temperature and liquid level, as well as automatic production-data recording. Asphalt proportion can be adjusted online during operation of the emulsified asphalt equipment.

Model Comparison: LRA / LRB / LRC

LRA (6/10/15 t/h) Suitable for emulsified asphalt, SBS and SBR modified emulsified asphalt. Manual or PLC full-automatic control optional. It is the general-purpose model in this product line for most road-maintenance projects.

LRB (6/10/15 t/h) Integrated modification-emulsification unit. Besides all functions of LRA, it can independently produce pure modified asphalt. Recommended for users needing dual-function production.

LRC (6 t/h) Compact economical type. Supports emulsified asphalt and SBR modified emulsified asphalt, equipped with manual or semi-automatic control. Fit for small-scale pavement-repair jobs.

Configuration Options

Customers can match control system according to budget and operation habit. Optional accessories include feeding auxiliary devices, remote-monitoring module and different-volume storage tanks. All technical parameters can be discussed for non-standard customization.

Export & Factory Test

Each complete set will go through assembly inspection and factory trial run before delivery. We adopt container-oriented modular packing for ocean export under FOB Qingdao trade term. Complete operation manual and overseas remote technical guidance will be provided.

How This Equipment Works

Bitumen emulsion is made by breaking hot bitumen into microscopic droplets and suspending them in water with the help of an emulsifier. The LIJIU LRA, LRB and LRC units do this continuously: bitumen is held at working temperature in a heated circuit, the water phase is prepared with emulsifier and held in a stirred tank, and the two streams are metered into the core unit, where a self-developed multi-stage modified emulsifier shears the bitumen into droplets small enough to remain suspended.

Two variables decide the quality of the output. The first is droplet size, which is governed by the shear energy in the mill and by the temperature of both phases. The second is the emulsifier system itself, because the chemistry determines how the finished emulsion behaves when it is applied. A plant that can hold both variables steady produces emulsion that stores well and breaks predictably on the road.

Choosing Between LRA, LRB and LRC

The three models in the series share the same continuous-production principle and the same stainless-steel wetted parts, but they differ in what they can produce and in how they are controlled.

  • LRA — available in 6, 10 and 15 t/h. Produces emulsified asphalt, SBS modified emulsified asphalt and SBR modified emulsified asphalt. Control is manual or PLC full-automatic.
  • LRB — also available in 6, 10 and 15 t/h. In addition to the LRA product range, it can produce pure modified asphalt, which makes it the choice when a plant needs both emulsion and modified binder from one line. Control is manual or PLC full-automatic.
  • LRC — a 6 t/h unit for ordinary emulsified asphalt and SBR modified emulsified asphalt, available with manual or semi-automatic control. It suits a smaller operation whose product range is settled.

If your order book is dominated by one or two emulsion grades, LRC gives the lowest entry cost. If you expect to move between grades or to add modified binder production later, LRB is the more flexible choice.

Emulsifier Chemistry and Break Behaviour

The full series supports anionic, cationic, quick-break and slow-break emulsifiers, and that range matters more than it first appears. Quick-break grades are formulated to set almost immediately after spraying, which is what a chip seal needs so the aggregate stays where it is placed. Slow-break grades stay workable longer, which is what a slurry seal or micro-surfacing crew needs in order to mix, spread and level the material before it sets. Cationic and anionic systems differ in how they bond to aggregate surfaces, and the correct choice depends on the aggregate chemistry in your area.

Because asphalt content is adjustable in real time on every model, a single plant can serve several of these applications by changing the recipe rather than the equipment. That is the practical reason to choose a continuous unit over a batch arrangement: grade changes become a matter of adjusting the ratio, not of emptying and refilling the circuit.

Packing, Shipping and Site Installation

The series is built at the LIJIU works in Dezhou and quoted FOB Qingdao, so the shipping decision is normally about how much of the plant travels assembled. The bitumen circuit, water phase tank, emulsifier and control panel are arranged so that the unit can be transported as a small number of sections and reassembled on site. Buyers should confirm the port, the destination site access and the available crane capacity before the shipping plan is fixed, because the largest single section sets the lifting requirement.

On site, the priorities are a firm level base, a thermal-oil or other heat source with adequate capacity, and a water supply of consistent quality. Hard or heavily mineralised water affects emulsifier performance, so establishing the local water analysis before commissioning avoids a period of trial-and-error with the recipe.

Operating and Maintenance Notes

Daily operation centres on flushing. Emulsion residue hardens quickly in pumps, valves and pipelines, and the cheapest maintenance is the ten minutes spent circulating clean water at the end of each shift. Beyond that, the mill gap should be checked against the recipe whenever a grade is changed, the flow meters should be calibrated monthly, and the strainers should be inspected every day because a partially blocked strainer changes the dosing accuracy without giving any obvious warning.

All parts in contact with the soap liquid and the emulsion — tanks, pumps, pipelines and valves — are stainless steel, which removes the corrosion problem that shortens the life of ordinary carbon-steel plants used with cationic emulsions. Keeping a modest stock of pump seals, valve seats and strainer elements on the shelf covers the great majority of unplanned stoppages.

Selection Advice for First-Time Buyers

Start from annual demand rather than from a target hourly rate. A plant that is expected to supply tack coat and prime coat to local maintenance crews rarely needs more than 6 t/h, while a contractor bidding for multiple slurry seal and micro-surfacing packages will want 10 t/h or more to avoid turning work away during a busy season. The customised configuration option exists for exactly this reason: capacity and configuration can be adjusted to match the local project profile and site conditions, and every machine completes a factory test before shipment.
